Designing a fully electric multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) appears quite straightforward. You simply acquire a van-like chassis, attach an electric motor or two, and incorporate a significant battery to ensure adequate mileage.

This compact vehicle seats five people and serves as a cosy four-wheeled living space.

On the surface, the Mix appears to be a concept vehicle, but it is actually an electric vehicle that is currently available in China. To be honest, its design looks quite refreshing, quite possibly something that should have been the reimagined, fully electric VW ID. Buzz.

In Malaysia, the Zeekr Mix is indeed an all-electric mini MPV that has been redesigned from the ground up for more than just daily commuting. Measuring 4,688mm in length and featuring an impressive 3,008mm wheelbase, the vehicle has wheels positioned further outwards, providing a spacious interior, while its width of 1,995mm and height of 1,755mm also offer a sturdy and stable appearance.

A striking design element of this vehicle is its expansive passenger-side sliding doors, measuring 1.48 meters wide. This unique feature is enabled by the elimination of traditional B-pillars on both sides of the car.

The front wheels can rotate by over 50 degrees, leading to an impressively tight turning radius of just five metres. A note-worthy feature is that only the driver's side front door swings open in a traditional manner.

For passengers' peace of mind in the event of a collision from the side, Zeekr has developed a special safety feature. This feature involves placing two extra-strong steel pillars inside each door. These pillars are made from super-dense 200 megapascal hot-formed steel and are then strengthened with a special thickening technique, making them 30% more resilient than standard hot-formed steel.

The rear section has a complete die-cast construction made from the same material used in the Zeekr 009 flagship MPV.

Inside, the front seats slide along a 2-meter long track and can swivel up to 270 degrees for an assortment of seating configurations. The centre console, besides that, also glides on a 2-meter long rail. Preset seating arrangements which include sitting place and face-to-face arrangement can be triggered with one single touch from the screen or audio push buttons on the driver's door control panel.

As a small central table, the centre island can also serve as a fridge, perfect for cooling your drinks and refreshments for extended weekend driving trips.

In the back row, the seats can be adjusted for maximum comfort, with the option to recline and stretch out. For added luxury, footrests unfold from the front seats to create a premium experience for passengers in the rear. To ensure a pleasant journey, the seats also come equipped with ventilation, heating, and a soothing massage function.

To turn the Mix into a third living space outside your home, Zeekr offers a range of add-ons for the centre island including large and small table attachments and additional cup-holders. You can also turn the Mix into a bedroom by laying all the seats flat and attaching a full-size mattress. There are also tablet holder accessories which allow you to mount an iPad to the back of the front seats.

The Zeekr provides a pleasantly comfortable and warm living experience with various ambient lighting options such as what appears to be "table lamp" situated beside the rear sliding doors. Furthermore, it comes with a large glass roof that features an electrically operated sun shade for added spaciousness.

As expected, the Mix electric vehicle comes equipped with Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology and features a power outlet in the boot, allowing you to use it to power household appliances. Yes, you can indeed run a coffee shop directly from the boot of the Mix.

The model is available in a rear-wheel drive (RWD) electric vehicle (EV) version with two battery options of 800V capacity. The single motor powering the rear axle delivers a strong output of 310kW (415hp) and 440Nm of torque, which enables it to accelerate from 0-100km/h in 6.8 seconds.

The battery with a 76kWh capacity can provide up to 550km of travel as per the CLTC-rated cycle, and charging from 10% to 80% can be done in just 10.5 minutes. The battery with a 102kWh capacity, on the other hand, can offer up to 702km of travel as per the CLTC-rated cycle, and charging from 10% to 80% can be completed in 15 minutes using DC fast charging.

The Zeekr Mix has an output of up to 3.3kW with V2L support. What's even more impressive is its V2V (Vehicle to Vehicle) feature, which enables rapid charging of another EV via DC up to 60kW.

The dashboard has a 15.05-inch 2.5K OLED screen that can be manually adjusted to face either the driver or the passenger. It is accompanied by a 13.02-inch HD display for the control panel and an Augmented Reality Head-Up Display (HUD) for the driver's benefit.

The Mix also serves as a mobile home theatre with a 2160W, 21-speaker Zeekr Sound Pro audio system. In China, The Mix is equipped with the standard Zeekr AD Intelligent Driving Assistance System, which uses LiDAR, high-definition cameras, and mmWave radars, supported by the Nvidia Drive Orin-X.

The Zeekr Mix comes with optional 19-inch wheels, sized 235/55 R19 at the front and 235/50 R19 at the rear. Alternatively, customers can opt for larger 20-inch wheels, measuring 235/50 R20 at the front and 265/45 R20 at the rear.

Presently, the Zeekr Mix is available for purchase in China, with the entry-level model featuring a 76kWh battery starting at RMB 279,900. The higher-end variant, equipped with the 102kWh NMC battery, has a starting price of RMB 299,900.
