Vivo is making an MR device to rival and even one-up Apple’s Vision Pro, prototype by late 2025

The vibe of the device in Vivo's teaser image bears a striking resemblance to the Vision Pro design.

Vivo’s MR prototype is expected to be completed by October 2025.

The product is expected to have "high-fidelity prototype experiences" in several cities across China towards the end of 2025.

It is uncertain when the final product will be launched, as Vivo's Chief Operating Officer, Han Boxiao, stated that it hinges on the readiness of supporting content platforms.

Vivo is making a bold claim that its omnidirectional video recording device, the MR device, will surpass the Apple Vision Pro in terms of performance.

What's even more fascinating is that Vivo claims its MR device will outdo Apple's Vision Pro in several areas. Even if this happens, it's not unexpected, given that the Apple Vision Pro will be around one and a half years old by that time.

It is possible that Vivo is planning to use a unique approach to attract customers to their MR products.

Han Boxiao shared that Vivio currently has 500 skilled members on its Mixed Reality (MR) team, focusing on developing the upcoming device, as well as integrating large-scale models and enhancing spatial perception capabilities.
