TM partners with Perodua to advance EV development and modernise automotive industry

Focusing on the development, digital innovation and sustainable growth of the automotive sector, in line with Malaysia's goal to establish a high-value, competitive automotive industry under the New Industrial Master Plan 2030 (NIMP 2030).

The partnership will comprise four main areas, which are Enhanced Network Infrastructure, Moving Digital Frontiers, Building Customer Loyalty, and Embracing Eco-Friendliness.

TM One, the arm of TM that caters to enterprise and government sectors, seeks to enhance perodua's infrastructure with internet access by combining fixed and wireless connections. This includes deploying SD-WAN solutions for Perodua's dealerships, providing a dedicated private 5G network for car-related activities and smart manufacturing tools to boost production efficiency.

These solutions proposed by TM aim to upgrade Perodua's operational efficiency, simplify data management, and support the company's planned growth and expansion. Additionally, TM One's advanced Cloud, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics and AI capabilities will be utilised to develop innovative initiatives in smart manufacturing, GPU as a Service (GPUaaS), electric vehicles (EV) and autonomous driving technologies.

Both Telekom Malaysia (TM) and Proton's Perodua are striving to broaden their customer base and brand recognition through innovative joint product developments and marketing approaches. This involves designing specialized in-car entertainment systems, intelligent navigation systems, and a combined digital marketing strategy to target new client groups. The companies are also committed to environmentally friendly initiatives, working together on green energy solutions for electric vehicle charging infrastructure and waste reduction measures that align with Malaysia's environmental targets.

Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Kumpulan TM, Amar Huzaimi Md Deris berkata, "Kerjasama kami dengan Perodua menempah komitmen kami untuk mewujudkan transformasi digit di sektor automotif, meningkatkan pengalaman pengguna dan nilai jangka panjang. Ini merupakan muara permunculan yang satu lagi bagi ambisi Kumpulan TM untuk menjadi Digital Powerhouse, mewujudkan pertumbuhan industri melalui pemudahkan kerjad dan membuka ruang peluang bagi organisasi dan negara."
