Tesla Cybercab: We Sit Inside Tesla's Driverless Car

We got into the Tesla Cybercab, a two-seater car equipped with fully autonomous driving technology, which may potentially become the successor to the Model 2.

Our colleagues at Motor1 Malaysia had a chance to experience the Cybercab firsthand as well as sit inside it. What follows is their recount of their experience with the Tesla Cybercab.

Tesla has taken its Cybercab for a spin across Europe. The latest model of Elon Musk's autonomous car has made its transatlantic journey, so we travelled to London to examine its interior more closely. Not its exterior, since we had already gained a good impression of its looks last month during the launch event, but its interior features.

We pushed open the doors that glide upwards with a gentle motion, entering the vehicle to gauge what it's like to be inside a car devoid of a steering wheel and accelerator pedals.

On the road, the overall design is rather flat and not too complicated. The Cybercab has two seats, designed to accommodate one or two passengers on most trips. The chairs are spacious with flat headrests and are more akin to household furniture than vehicular components. Given that it will operate primarily in urban areas, the Cybercab does not require contoured handles to secure passengers during fast turns.

The use of automatic sanitizing stations between rides is essential to guarantee that all users can occupy a cabin that has been thoroughly sanitised.
