Russia mulls direct flights to Malaysia, Pakistan and Brazil

KUALA LUMPUR: Russia's transport ministry is in talks to introduce direct flights to Malaysia, Pakistan and Brazil.

The Russian government's transport minister, Roman Starovoyt, stated that Russia is in discussions with numerous international airlines from countries with whom they have a close relationship.

"We are always adapting our route network to suit the situation at the time. Our airline operates according to the principle of parity, mutual respect, and adherence to all international aviation rules," he said to the Russian News Agency (TASS) in an exclusive interview.

He stated that we need to engage in discussions with the airlines prior to establishing air services with any specific country.

I think that in order to effectively establish a route, it is best to start with chartered flights. This enables travellers to get a feel of how the tourism infrastructure works, whether trips can be organised, and how safety measures are implemented.

"If there is a significant amount of passengers heading to those destinations, it is possible to re-route some flights to accommodate them," he mencipta.
