Malaysia Airlines crew praised for medical flight professionalism

PETALING JAYA: Malaysian Airlines crew members have garnered high praise for their extraordinary professionalism and commitment during a recent medical evacuation flight from Kuala Lumpur to Osaka, Japan.

Dr Kiran Chalam, CEO of AK Aeromedical Services, labelled their actions as heroic in a heartfelt post on the True Malaysia Airlines Fans Group on Facebook.

Dr Kiran described the events of flight MH365 on December 12, where the crew collaborated perfectly with the medical team to guarantee the safety and well-being of a patient undergoing transportation.

I would like to express my sincerest appreciation to each and every member of the cabin crew for their exceptional support and outstanding professionalism that they demonstrated during a medical repatriation on flight MH52 from Kuala Lumpur to Osaka.

"The situation posed a lot of difficulties, but your skill and travelling experience along with maintaining your cool under pressure were truly outstanding," he said.

He complimented the crew on their outstanding performance, explaining that they worked seamlessly together with the flight deck, medical crew, and ground staff.

“Your level of attention and co-ordination caught our eye - it was quite clear that utmost care was given to the patient's well-being and all others on board.”

Dr Kiran equally commended their empathetic nature throughout the entire trip.

“You displayed remarkable empathy and provided excellent care during the interaction, making a positive impact on the patient and others around you. Your exceptional customer service standards were truly exceptional,” he stated.

Dr Kiran praised the crew for their professionalism when he flew back to Kuala Lumpur on Malaysia Airlines flight MH53 on 18 December. He felt fortunate to have them on board again after the crew's exceptional behaviour during the earlier incident, and valued the way they handled a new medical emergency that arose mid-flight.

High level of composure displayed by all crew members was reassuring and gave all passengers a sense of security amidst the trying situation.

“Ever ready with their quick assessment of the situation, and coordinated communication with medical staff, their collaboration was truly exceptional, and kept all passengers well-informed and at ease.”

"The cabin crew played a crucial and highly skilled role in this ordeal," he mentioned.

He wrapped up by conveying appreciation to them for their unyielding commitment and prompt decision-making.

“Your efforts have actually made a true impact in people's lives,” he said.
